Honoring the Sacred Fire – Creating The Womb With Clay

July 27, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Fire has been used in ceremonial practice since the creation stories of many cultures and traditions. With time and patience, you can rekindle the fire that has belonged to you since you came into this world, once again surrounding you in the aromatic smoke of the cosmos.

Developing a relationship with the sacred fire begins with building foundations of trust, honor and respect. In this class we will discuss using this element in our homes, on our altars and in ceremony. In the second part of the class we will create a personal tool referred to as a sahumerio, popoxcomitl or a tlemaitl which is used in the Meso-American traditions as well as in curanderismo.  We will form this powerful tool out of clay which acts a womb to hold the burning coals that will transform the herbs and resins used into offerings for our guides, holy ones and the deities of our personal path.

Class Fee $110 – Fee includes cost of the materials and the ceramic firing of your personal tool!
