For thousands of years, herbs have been associated with astrological myths, deities, and energies in many cultures. In this class we will explore the Hermetic worldview of the four elements, the seven spheres, and the signs of the zodiac in relation to herbalism. All ancient diagnostic methods are holistic and constitutional, taking into account not only the whole person, but the environment as well. Constitutional herbalism means that once you have diagnosed where an energetic imbalance lies, that connects to a whole body of teachings and herbal remedies that can bring about harmony. Useful correspondences will be included that will deepen your connection to both plant spirits and astrology, as well as tools to identify the planetary and elemental nature of any herb, and ancient methods for making difficult astrology in the sky or your birth chart more easeful.

Connor Khalil Marvin is a poet, instructor and occult scholar living in Lafayette, CO. They are an initiate of a Kabbalistic-Sufi order and a Druidic order, hold an undergraduate degree in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University with a minor in Yoga Studies, and are working on completing a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner certification. They currently work as a House Witch at Ritualcravt, read Tarot professionally, and create planetary talismans for clients. Their magical practice is informed heavily by Hermetic Qabbalah as well as Renaissance angelology, planetary magic, and geomancy. They taught meditation and poetry to young people experiencing homelessness in Denver for almost three years, and have taught online classes on magic and divination. They believe that mysticism is the apex of magic and magic is the apex of mysticism.
