Much of premodern European, North African, and Middle-Eastern magic and divination was based on an ancient system called Geomancy, or “earth-magic.” As a method of divination, Geomancy is revered for its complexity and highly specific answers – but this class will be focused on the use of the 16 Figures of the Geomantic art and their use in magic. Each of the Figures is made up of fire, air, water, and earth, in either their passive or active mode. Each has their own personality, uses, associated spirits, angels, and intelligences. We will cover talismanry, the planetary and elemental paths of working with the Figures, sigil casting, Geomantic mudras, invoking the powers that rule the Figures successfully – and I will be discussing some of the Figures’ use in baneful or malefic magic.

Connor Khalil Marvin is a poet, instructor and occult scholar living in Lafayette, CO. They are an initiate of a Kabbalistic-Sufi order and a Druidic order, hold an undergraduate degree in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University with a minor in Yoga Studies, and are working on completing a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner certification. They currently work as a House Witch at Ritualcravt, read Tarot professionally, and create planetary talismans for clients. Their magical practice is informed heavily by Hermetic Qabbalah as well as Renaissance angelology, planetary magic, and geomancy. They taught meditation and poetry to young people experiencing homelessness in Denver for almost three years, and have taught online classes on magic and divination. They believe that mysticism is the apex of magic and magic is the apex of mysticism.
