Come learn some of the premodern sources and practices surrounding three of the most commonly utilized tools in modern magic! This class is designed to deepen the power of your work with candles, crystals, and sigils; to deepen the power of your relationship with elemental and planetary spirits, angels and intelligences; and to deepen the power of your attunement to the rhythms of nature and the cosmos. We will be discussing the principles of correspondence, the two directions and ways to climb the Golden Chain, and traditional ritual timing, influenced by late-Medieval and Renaissance Planetary, Angelic, Goetic, and Geomantic magical traditions in Europe – including an introduction to the “Golden Chain,” a Hermetic-Neoplatonic concept that is the key to understanding the currents of Western Esotericism underlying much of modern magic. It is not enough to memorize tables of correspondence, we are invited to enter into an intimate relationship and partnership with the natures and rhythms of Spirit.

Connor Khalil Marvin is a poet, instructor and occult scholar living in Lafayette, CO. They are an initiate of a Kabbalistic-Sufi order and a Druidic order, hold an undergraduate degree in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University with a minor in Yoga Studies, and are working on completing a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner certification. They currently work as a House Witch at Ritualcravt, read Tarot professionally, and create planetary talismans for clients. Their magical practice is informed heavily by Hermetic Qabbalah as well as Renaissance angelology, planetary magic, and geomancy. They taught meditation and poetry to young people experiencing homelessness in Denver for almost three years, and have taught online classes on magic and divination. They believe that mysticism is the apex of magic and magic is the apex of mysticism.
