Please Note: Per county guidelines, students are required to properly wear a mask for the duration of your visit. We are unable to make exceptions.

In this class, we’ll experiment with sigil magic from a practical, results-based perspective, that can be incorporated into any tradition. Drawing upon the reductionist method of English surrealist artist Austin Osman Spare (1886-1956), we will travel through the process of sigilisation from intention to construction. This will include how to language statements of intent to work with energy blockages, your nervous system, and shadow. Additionally, we will explore the creative power of working with lunar cycles, sabbath, and symbols that exist all around us. Note: This class will be based in a contemporary sigil practice and will not delve into the sigils, signatures, and symbols seen in the Keys of Solomon, or planetary seals.

John Moletress (they/them) is a queer-identified artist, educator and witch. With a background in performance art, sound technologies, social justice, and somatic psychotherapy, they practice witchcraft through a somatic and trauma-informed lens. Current embodied research practices involve the construction of sound environments and digital instruments for use in ritual and sigil magick, which you will find on Instagram at kraftwitch.
