In this class, we’ll do a deep dive into the process of sigil magic according to the principles of chaos. Practice will include constructing sigils by way of Austin Osman Spare’s reduction method, mantras, hypersigils, and embodied sigilisation. Techniques for visualization, trance, working with the lunar cycle will be discussed and practiced. This is a great class for incorporating sigil magic as complementary to any tradition or path, as well as those new to magic or simply curious!
Attendees are asked to bring materials to write/draw sigils, and a handheld mirror or scrying glass (if available).
John Moletress (they/them) is a queer-identified artist, educator and witch. With a background in performance art, sound technologies, social justice, and somatic psychotherapy, they practice witchcraft through a somatic and trauma-informed lens. Current embodied research practices involve the construction of sound environments and digital instruments for use in ritual and sigil magick, which you will find on Instagram at kraftwitch.
