In this 3 part series, you will learn how to utilize astrology as a timing technique for your rituals and spiritual practices. The astrological technique that will be taught in this class is known as electional astrology. Electional astrology is a technique in which you cast a chart for the birth of an event or venture under the premise that the chart will both describe the nature of the event as well as what will happen in the future. In this class series, we will directly apply this technique to elect an auspicious time that will enhance and support the desired intention and goal of the ritual.

The roots of electional astrology are grounded in the astrological practices of ancient Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt. These two practices were integrated to form the ancient astrological tradition known today as the Hellenistic astrology. Hellenistic astrology is the basis of western astrology and was practiced from first century BCE to seventh century CE in the mediterranean region.

Part 1, we will begin by establishing a foundational understanding of the Ancient Hellenistic perspective on planets, houses, signs and sect (the difference between day and night charts). Part 2, we will cover transits, the significance of the ascendent and midheaven and annual profection (additional Hellenistic timing technique). Part 3, you will learn how to synthesize part 1 and 2 to cast a chart to elect an auspicious timing that is in accordance with your ritual.

Porsche Bazany is a professional astrologer, spiritual teacher and intuitive guide. She has been studying astrology for over 15 years and practicing it professionally for 6 years. Her perspective is well-based in Hellenistic traditional astrology with a bit of a modern touch. As a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.A. in astronomy and physics she aspires to bridge the gap between science and spirituality.
