*Live Remote Online Offering* Herbal Smoke, A Spiritual Practice

October 25, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Indigenous people have used herbal smoking blends as a form of connecting and healing since their creation stories were spoken into the world. “Medicine” is used as a word in indigenous groups that describes something as having spirit. Plants offer their “Medicine” to us in many forms including their essences as smoke. We use this smoke and energetic vibration to elevate our prayers sending our intentions to the ears of our holy ones and guides. As we see the smoke rise we witness the gift of communication from this physical world into another.
In this class we will talk about external and internal smoking methods, the various herbs and plant “medicines” used, including different blends as well as the different alternatives to smudging with sage. I will show how to roll herbal cigarettes and how to appropriately smoke them as well as other alternatives to rolled cigarettes. I will also talk about the rules of safety and contraindications. This class is about bringing the awareness of ceremonial/intentional smoking as a spiritual practice.
