In many magical & mystical traditions, plants are not simply objects. They are more than just ingredients, medicines, and useful tools, but allies and collaborators in their own right. Join Melissa Madara for a look beneath the surface of green magic, focusing on what it means to work with plants in a magical context. As a primer on green magic and an occult approach to plants, this class is perfect for beginners, or for witches who want to sink deeper into the verdant world.

This lecture will cover the philosophy of plant magic and how to access relationships with plants, plant spirits, and the divinities associated with the natural world. We will introduce concepts around plant sorcery and allyship, which are foundational to a green magic practice, as well as outlining a philosophy of approach to plants & their spirits. This class will also cover the anatomy of plants, with both their medicinal and magical correspondences.

Melissa Madara is a witch, chef, and co-owner at Catland Books. Their work deals with the healing power of myth, divination, and immersion in the natural world. They are a teacher at Catland Books and numerous other metaphysical spaces in NYC, and are available for herbal consultations, tarot, and magical coaching by appointment.
