Magick Making-Deer Skin Spell Pouches

Michelle will be in store for most of the day with all supplies and instruction you’ll need to craft your own deerskin pouch. She will help you stitch the pouch using artificial sinew and add decorations such as glass beads and feathers. Please bring any special trinkets, feathers or bones you’d like to add and Michelle with help you navigate how to incorporate them.

Some type of spell pouch or medicine bag was used by every ancestral culture. It was common as recently as the Victorian era to pick herbs and create bundles of love magic, healing etc to carry throughout the day. It is only as we have become disconnected from the land that we have stopped this practice. All of our great grandmothers kept pouches of herbs between their petticoats. This is magic that is available and accessible for all of us. Deer are native to the Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia and their skin is soft and pliable. It would have been a natural choice for pouches for all of our ancestors. If you have an aversion to using leather vegan options will be available but please understand that there will be the skins in the room.
