Menstrual Blood Magic: Working with the Blood of Peace in Ritual and Ceremony
July 24, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
$30.00Once known by the ancients as the drink of immortality, the moon blood from which all mankind originated, the sang real of holy grail myth and legend, menstrual blood has been known for all of human history as the sacred substance of life. Without the menstrual cycle, the human race could not exist. And for thousands of years, women understood the power of their blood, and used it as a sacred tool to divine and guide their lives, families, and communities. The Blood Mysteries have been hidden and kept underground for centuries but humans are remembering, and reawakening to the importance of honoring and working with it again.
Learn the basics of Menstrual Blood Magick: The history and mythology of menstrual blood as a magical substance, metaphysical properties, how to collect and store it for use, ways to safely work with the blood in ritual and ceremony, how to use menstrual blood for healing of womb trauma, ancestor work, connecting with the Earth, and more. We will discuss the use of Menstrual Blood as an alchemical substance of peace and non-violence, prophecies surrounding the return of the wisdom of the blood, and why we work with it in this way. We will also discuss ways to honor the magic of the menstrual cycle if you no longer bleed or do not bleed, and ways for partners of bleeding people to honor this monthly magic and hold space for those who experience menstruation. All are welcome.
Come ready to participate in a short, informal group ritual using some of the practices we learn in class.
Through her unique approach to working with the magick of the menstrual blood mysteries in ceremony and her dynamic and spiritually rich visionary paintings of the Goddess, Elizabeth Ogletree, BFA, provides inspiration, creative encouragement, and space holding for women worldwide in her circles, offerings, and artwork. Inspired to initiate as a Priestess of the Red Tent by her Grandmother Sue, a woman who wore red every day of her life and who died when Elizabeth was 8 of ovarian cancer, Elizabeth felt a deeper need for women to rediscover ancient ways of maintaining womb health through ritual and magick. Elizabeth set out to solidify a thriving red tent community for the women of Denver, CO, gathering every month on the New Moon since October 2015. She is available for commissioned artwork, Red Tent Priestess training, labor and birth doula work, yoni steaming, menarche ceremonies, and magickal menstrual education. learn more about Elizabeth’s work with the Red Tent and view her gallery of artwork, visit www.moonandwomb.com
