Runework for Beginners

The runes have called to many throughout the centuries. The meaning of the word “rune” is hidden knowledge, and during this class we will begin to uncover these mysteries. We will briefly explore the ways we can utilize the runes, including writing, divination, and bindrunes. We will also review all 24 elder futhark runes and some of their core meanings so that you can tap into this knowledge of our human consciousness at any point.

Please come in with a simple concept for a bindrune you might want (protection, magical work, change in your life, etc.) and at the end of the class we will work to create a bindrune just for you!

Emily Joy is a rune worker and the artist behind Wood Fire Ink. She first discovered the runes about eight years ago, and has become more and more immersed in their history and lore ever since. The runes are a tool to be used on the journey toward personal understanding. She uses this understanding and study to create runes and bindrunes by galdring, or singing in ceremony. Emily Joy is passionate about educating others on all that the runes have to offer, and wants everyone to be able to access this ancient knowledge wherever they go.
