Witch Crafting Circle: February- Witches Ladder
February 15, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
$15.00A monthly community creation event for all. Every magic practitioner is a creator, and this is an opportunity for us to gather in order to hold space as we all create. If you choose to join, please understand that we are gathering to learn from each other, hold space, and share energy to give to each others’ creations. This is a time for us to give and receive wisdom as a crafter and practitioner as we follow our individual paths. The beginning of each session will include a brief lesson and opportunity to learn a new art/witchcraft skill for you to apply to your own practice. While it is encouraged that you bring any specific items for your own practice, the following materials will be available to all:
*paper – watercolor + sketchbook paper
*basic watercolor paint materials
*twine
*drawing materials – pencil, charcoal, marker, ink
*fiber materials – yarn, paper plate looms, basic embroidery materials
Please note, although there will be a small lesson at the beginning, the majority of time will be spent specifically creating. If you do not wish to participate in the beginning lesson, it is still encouraged that you come and work during this time to form bonds with fellow practitioners and to gain the benefits of collective creation.

Witch’s Ladder –
The witch’s ladder is an old spell, recorded in the late 1800s, that serves to bind your will or intention. During the beginning of the session, Emily Joy will teach the history and show how to do simple knots in order to create your own witch’s ladder. Twine and basic beads will be provided, but it is recommended that you bring supplies in order to tie into the rope (ex. feathers/bones, personal items like strips of cloth or writings, beads, etc.) that help serve your purpose.
Emily Joy is a rune worker and the artist behind Wood Fire Ink.
Emily first discovered the runes about eight years ago, and has become more and more immersed in their history and lore ever since. The runes are a tool to be used on the journey toward personal understanding. She uses this understanding and study to create runes and bindrunes by galdring, or singing in ceremony. Emily Joy is passionate about educating others on all that the runes have to offer, and wants everyone to be able to access this ancient knowledge wherever they go. Learn more about the runes and her work by following her Instagram account, @woodfireink.
