Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \nAn Evening of Death Contemplation with Death Doula & Midwife Carla Torres of A Venerated Death\, LLC End of Life Care \n  \nJoin Death Doula & Midwife Carla Torres for an evening of Death Contemplation! \nThe Contemplation of Death is a Traditional Practice of looking deeply and symptomatically into the nature of Death – physically & spiritually and into our own personal relationship with it. \nDeath Contemplation opens us up to the reality of Death in a very personal and intimate level. Death is a part of our everyday lives\, Death Contemplation helps us become aware of it\, relate to it\, accept & honor it in our world. \nIn this class\, Carla will take through a physical & spiritual journey of your own living death by experiencing a Ritual Death Washing\, Shrouding & being “Laid In Honor” through holy departed Death Meditation. \nYou will leave feeling refreshed on many levels with a new found love and appreciation for Life! \n  \nCarla is a Witch\, End of Life Coach & Death Doula\, she has been practicing magick since she was 18 years old and is an initiate of COTW Coven here in Colorado. Carla received both her End of Life Coaching & Death Doula certifications through her course work with the Conscious Dying Institute in Boulder\, Colorado. Carla is passionate about the Death Positive movement and is an advocate of normalizing death and mortality in everyday life. She hopes to bring death back to its scared place in the community through her death work services and discussions. Carla’s strengths in the death work field are being able to approach this part of life with a radical presence of non-judgment\, love and a bold vulnerability. Carla is a end of life care volunteer for Hospice and is currently working towards a Home Funeral Guide certification. When Carla is not hosting death related discussions\, helping families plan for a good death or sitting vigil\, she can be found talking to her house plants or rolling around in laughter with her two daughters.

I will share a keynote presentation on the springtide\, with important timings and events we can observe in the diaspora. We will go over folk magic and medicine\, and ancestral practices we can utilize to bring the fresh energy of the Spring into our modern lives on the lands we live on today. \nMissy Johanna Rhysing is an American woman practicing Nordic folk traditions in Denver\, CO and Mpls\, MN. Her people hail from Scandinavia\, Bohemia/Czech Republic\, France and England. She places great importance on working with our ancestral root cultures as a means of reclaiming and reweaving folk magic and medicine to improve our lives and our relationships with the lands we live on today.\nMissy’s trainings include Trolldom\, Nordic spirituality and animism\, Swedish massage\, past life regression\, meditation\, shiatsu\, tattooing\, folk herbal and nutritional support\, and more. Missy facilitates community sauna ceremonies and is passionate about sauna tradition and culture. She has been offered the name Völva\, or cunning woman\, and holds that close to her heart with great honor. She carries immense gratitude for her mentors\, spirit council\, and peers for the doors that have been opened to her and the blessings she has received.
