Registration closes one hour prior to class starting. \n  \nIn this three-part class series\, we will explore some of the fundamental components of medical astrology\, including origin of the technique and practical applications. Note that it is not required to take all three classes in the series\, nor are earlier classes in the series prerequisite for later ones! Students at any skill level of astrology\, herbal medicine\, or with any interest in alternative health should feel comfortable dropping into any of this material. In this iteration\, we will explore planetary transits as a function of health events\, including the identification of advantageous times to schedule certain types of care. Participants will receive approximately 90 minutes of lecture-style presentation and notes\, and 30 minutes of chart examples and discussion. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nIsabel Gareau (they/them) is a Tarot reader\, astrologer\, and herbalist currently residing on traditional and unceded territories of Ute\, Cheyenne\, and Arapahoe Peoples in so-called Denver\, Colorado. They have been studying the esoteric arts for the past 11 years\, offering Tarot and astrology readings to members of the community for the past six. Isabel practices from a process-based and Jungian approach\, helping querents to understand and empower their own personal narrative through storytelling and deep inner listening. Registration closes one hour prior to class beginning. \n  \nWe are holding a monthly gathering for those who wish to work on their crafts (knitting\, crocheting\, stitching\, jewelry-making\, writing\, drawing\, you name it!) in the shared space of a zoom call. We are seeking self-care\, community\, and creative expression in a group that will welcome and encourage conversation and connection\, though there is no requirement to speak or to even have your screen on if you’d rather be anonymous and just “be” with us! \nLet’s face it\, our world demands constant productivity often for the sake of others. I often think that we are led to believe “how can we craft at a time like this?” But this is precisely the moment to engage in what makes us feel happy and at peace. We will reclaim the energy and beauty of crafting for the sake of personal fulfillment and relaxation. All skill levels and craft mediums are welcome in these gatherings that will be like book clubs\, but for crafts. We will set a theme for each session so you can consider it or even journal on it before attending\, and in our meetings\, you will have an opportunity to share with others\, if you choose\, while I will facilitate. Note that these are not lectures or classes but more like free-form meetings in a safe space\, with 3 price levels so you can choose what works best for you economically. \nMarch: If you happen to know anything about people taking part in making things as a form of\nresistance\, let’s talk about it! I’m curious to know more about people who have engaged in\ndifferent craft forms as a form of activism in the past\, but also\, if you know of any ways we can be part of resistance in similar ways in the present. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR \nSusan Redington Bobby\, the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, is an online teacher\, a freelance editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing\, and she has recently completed a certificate course on integrative somatic trauma therapy.  She is a retired professor of English with expertise in fairy tales\, adolescent literature\, goddess archetypes\, magical realism\, creative writing\, and film studies. She is the author of Beyond His Dark Materials\, the editor of Fairy Tales Reimagined\, and co-editor of The Artemis Archetype in Popular Culture. The Series Editor of Tales from Fiddler’s Green\, she also occasionally publishes creative fiction. She is currently studying the Bardic Course in Druidry from OBOD. She maintains Mellie’s Grove\, a certified NWF backyard wildlife habitat that is home to a rescued and small stabilized cat family and all manner of wildlife.

We will go over several prominent animals and their magical and spiritual associations through the lens of our common folk ancestors of Scandinavia\, both as animal energies and as materia for spells and spirituality. We will also discuss Fylgias\, or animal spirits\, and we will go through a procedure to discover a personal Fylgia- one that you can continue to develop a relationship with long after class is over. \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nMissy Johanna Rhysing is an American woman practicing Nordic folk traditions in Denver\, CO and Mpls\, MN. Her people hail from Scandinavia\, Bohemia/Czech Republic\, France and England. She places great importance on working with our ancestral root cultures as a means of reclaiming and reweaving folk magic and medicine to improve our lives and our relationships with the lands we live on today.\nMissy’s trainings include Trolldom\, Nordic spirituality and animism\, Swedish massage\, past life regression\, meditation\, shiatsu\, tattooing\, folk herbal and nutritional support\, and more. From the haints and kitchen witchery to the pacts made at the crossroads\, this lively tradition holds secrets that are seen with the naked eye. This course is designed to explore the herbal and non-herbal materia that this folk magic tradition uses in everyday practice. From the soothing herbs of lavender\, to the ensnarement of Devil’s Shoestring\, we will be discussing the uses of the materia and what days of the week to use said materials. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR \nGabriel Varzalyi-Lopez is a biracial Virginia-born folk practitioner\, a devotee to his ancestors\, spirits of nature\, and the God and Goddess of his mother and father. He is a seer\, diviner\, spiritual medium\, and conjurer trained in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans. While being dedicated to his spiritual work for over a decade\, while also assisting the community in his legal profession through his daily life\, Gabriel sees the balance that both the spiritual world and material world have in the progression of someone’s life.
