It is believed to heal the unhealable amongst indigenous practices and is valued across the globe for its multitude of attributes and beauty.\nIn this class\, we will discuss very specific modalities in which to use obsidian either on yourself or as a practitioner of healing modalities. As a knife it can cut away negative energy and vibrations of illness. As a disc or an egg\, it can be used it in trauma work to absorb pain\, inflammation and grief. The uses for obsidian are numerous and we will cover many- including actual examples of a variety of tools that I use within my private practice.\nObsidian is in not a stone of “gentle love and light” and requires a lot from the practitioner to tap into all it has to offer. The work starts with you and it is always a strong recommendation that this is considered as one starts to work with obsidian. Her family roots are from Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado where curanderismo was and still is an enriching and common way of life. Lisa’s grandmothers were her biggest influences providing her a lifelong apprenticeship. These teachings lead to the development of sacred connections with plants\, stones and spiritual practices that are used to help others in their journey to emotional\, mental\, physical and spiritual healing.\nPrivate sessions with Lisa are holistic and intuitive in nature and are personalized to include the body-mind-spirit connection in conjunction with the cosmic energies\, ancestors\, santos\, angels\, and guides. This lecture will be an exploration of several classic fairy tales from different eras\, authors\, and parts of the world\, that center on trees as protectors and guardians. Some attention will be given to scientific research about the sentience of trees and their behavior\, which will show that what we may think of as fairy-tale magic when it comes to trees may actually incorporate a bit of reality. The hope for the class is that you look at trees with either new or newfound knowledge and appreciation for the way they ground and watch over us. \nSusan Redington Bobby is a practicing witch and the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, where she is an online teacher\, an editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing. She is a retired professor of English with expertise in fairy tales\, adolescent literature\, goddess archetypes\, magical realism\, creative writing\, and film studies. Truly this set of tales would not be as powerful were it not for such varied supporting characters from the natural world. This class offers a new appreciation for every petal\, every leaf\, and every stem. \nSusan Redington Bobby is a practicing witch and the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, where she is an online teacher\, an editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing. This class moves beyond generic products like Q Oil and Lavender Love Drops\, formulas that claim to address all queer desire\, to address the many forms of queer and trans love and lust from an inside perspective\, making it useful for both allies and members of the queer community. The attraction that a lesbian woman feels is very different from that of a gay man. Desire breaks down further into subtypes and preferences. \nAs an offering for magical workers both inside and outside of the queer community\, this class is expressly created to celebrate and share the knowledge of effective magic for queer love\, sex\, and romance. When queer\, trans\, lesbian\, and gay people cannot turn to the priests of the world for help\, the sorcerers must step in. \nThe magical tradition known as Rootwork has many answers to supply to today’s queer community if we merely scratch its surface and look beyond the bias of many historians. Rootwork presents us with materia and workings that can be tailored to suit any preference for love and sex. \nThere are specific workings to draw butches\, men with money\, true love\, heartfelt marriage proposals\, kink relationships\, and even clandestine affairs. It’s a wonderful way to make magic a way of life. \nIn this in-person workshop\, Sterling Moon will introduce participants to the magic of floorwashes. Floorwashes are essentially spells for changing the energy of a space\, dispelling what’s unwanted\, or calling in what’s desirable. The spell is “activated” through the mundane activity of mopping and wiping down commonly used spaces. They are a staple in many folk magic traditions. \nSterling will guide participants through making their own blends\, beyond throwing a bunch of herbs and curios together. Sterling will walk participants through divining what needs attention in their home or lives and the process of waking up and listening to the spirits of magical materia like herbs and curios\, ensuring that it all works in harmony.
