Note that it is not required to take all three classes in the series\, nor are earlier classes in the series prerequisite for later ones! Students at any skill level of astrology\, herbal medicine\, or with any interest in alternative health should feel comfortable dropping into any of this material. In this iteration\, we will go over correspondences between the planets + zodiac and the body systems. Participants will receive approximately 90 minutes of lecture-style presentation and notes\, and 30 minutes of chart examples and discussion. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nIsabel Gareau (they/them) is a Tarot reader\, astrologer\, and herbalist currently residing on traditional and unceded territories of Ute\, Cheyenne\, and Arapahoe Peoples in so-called Denver\, Colorado. I would love to help you reframe this month by focusing on Hestia\, a goddess of hearth (which is Latin for focus) and home\, who cultivates wisdom and periods of connection with others on a similar path. \nHestia and Vesta\, her Roman counterpart\, are symbolized in the flame\, dancing in the center of the home or other spiritual place. Learning about her and her archetype can provide you with the tools to make February be a month where you focus on what you need around you to feel as secure and safe as possible. We will focus on what is integral in your mind and body\, what resonates as most meaningful\, and use these touchstones as a guide to curate your own personal safe space\, which protects you and makes you feel whole. Hestia can teach us how to slow down\, to mindfully and meditatively complete our tasks. Ideas about what is “safe\,” “allowed\,” or “spiritual enough” quietly taught you to stay small\, stay agreeable\, or stay silent. These distortions don’t always feel negative\, they often masquerade as discipline\, goodness\, or spiritual maturity\, yet they subtly erode your authority\, clarity\, and self-trust. \nIn this class\, you’ll identify the distorted belief structures that keep you passive\, hesitant\, or self-erasing. We are seeking self-care\, community\, and creative expression in a group that will welcome and encourage conversation and connection\, though there is no requirement to speak or to even have your screen on if you’d rather be anonymous and just “be” with us! \nLet’s face it\, our world demands constant productivity often for the sake of others. I often think that we are led to believe “how can we craft at a time like this?” But this is precisely the moment to engage in what makes us feel happy and at peace. All skill levels and craft mediums are welcome in these gatherings that will be like book clubs\, but for crafts. This meet-up is designed to be a facilitated space for those interested in tarot\, not a “class.” There will be two facilitators\, current readers here at Ritualcravt – Andrea Carla and Reese Quinn. \nTarot meet-ups will start and end with reflections on the past month’s tarot pulls\, a themed topic discussion\, and then will be driven by you! Your facilitators will be there to offer discussion areas\, hold space for questions\, encourage “practice” readings\, and provide time for intentional community building as it fits the group. \nPlease come with your tarot deck and your curiosity! \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTORS: \nAndrea’s fascination with reading cards began from a young age after being introduced to the Smith-Waite Tarot. From then on\, she began to explore different methods of divination and fell in love with Lenormand\, a system of cartomancy originating in late 18th century Europe. Andrea’s style of reading cards could be described as pragmatic and deeply rooted in tradition\, influenced by a true reverence for the sibyls of the past. As a teacher\, Andrea has both an academic and scholarly approach to the way that she presents her classes as well as sharing from her experiences and gnosis as a professional reader. She considers the Tarot to be a book of esoteric mysteries and has spent years of her life in studying and peeling back its many layers to share the knowledge and wisdom embedded in every card. \nReese Quinn (she/they) is a tarot and astrology reader and what they lovingly call a practical witch. They have a strong awareness of the crossroads between astrology\, cartomancy\, and elemental practices. You’ll note that Reese embraces their queer\, intersectional identities when both teaching and reading. Reese has been a reader at Ritualcravt for over two years and has studied with well-known witches like Lindsay Mack and Pam Grossman and well-respected teachers locally in Denver. Students at any skill level of astrology\, herbal medicine\, or with any interest in alternative health should feel comfortable dropping into any of this material. In this iteration\, we will focus specifically on herbal medicine preparations which consider medical astrology principles\, as well as techniques for formulating with planetary cycles. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nUsing the framework of Hanafuda playing cards\, we will look at various botanicals and their spiritual and historical significance in Japanese culture.  The class will include a history of Hanafuda and how it used in different games today.  Each suit in the deck represents a month and is assigned a seasonal botanical.  In this first class we will look at the first quarter of the year: January – pine\, February – plum\, March – cherry.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own Hanafuda decks if they already own one\, but possession of a deck is not required for the class\, as the content will be primarily focused on symbolism. It’s a wonderful way to make magic a way of life. \nIn this in-person workshop\, Sterling Moon will introduce participants to the magic of floorwashes. Floorwashes are essentially spells for changing the energy of a space\, dispelling what’s unwanted\, or calling in what’s  desirable. The spell is “activated” through the mundane activity of mopping and wiping down commonly used spaces. They are a staple in many folk magic traditions. \nSterling will guide participants through making their own blends\, beyond throwing a bunch of herbs and curios together. Sterling will walk participants through divining what needs attention in their home or lives and the process of waking up and listening to the spirits of magical materia like herbs and curios\, ensuring that it all works in harmony. In this session\, we will explore the 10 Rules of Paranormal Interaction. These are practical guidelines that help you understand how spirits communicate\, why paranormal experiences happen\, and how to engage the unseen world with clarity and safety. \nWe will move into hands-on practice using pendulums\, learning how to recognize intuitive signals and interpret subtle energetic responses. This practice helps strengthen your awareness and confidence in receiving intuitive information. \nWe will close the evening with a spirit communication session connecting with the Whisperers and other spirits\, allowing participants to witness and experience these principles in action. \nEach month we explore a different aspect of the paranormal through teaching\, guided practice\, and direct experiences. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nPersephone\, Goddess of Flowers and Queen of the Underworld\, reminds us to embrace the endless cycle of life and death. As we depart the darkest part of the year\, we look forward to new growth\, blossoms\, and the light that Spring brings to us. This new life is not possible without the inevitability of death\, decay\, and the resulting recycling of natural materials. \nLikewise\, cicadas follow a similar rhythm. Eggs of the cicada are laid beneath tree bark and the young hatchlings fall to the ground and burrow beneath the earth. Depending on the species\, cicada nymphs will lay beneath the soil for weeks to years\, until they finally emerge in large quantities to molt into adulthood\, mate\, and continue the cycle. This journey to the underworld\, and an existence of dormancy is a natural reflection of Persephone’s journey between Hades and the world of the living. \nThis class will discuss the beneficial cycle of life and death and how it relates to the myth of Persephone. We will touch on the fascinating mystery cult of Eleusis\, and tie these themes to the life cycle of cicadas. There are many beautiful lessons to learn from this chthonic journey and its important role in helping us accept the reality of death and decay. \nEach ticket also includes a small shadow box\, a cicada specimen\, some dried flowers\, and a brief instruction on how to create a devotional art piece to Persephone. \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nJess is a Denver-based artist who creates small sculptures and jewelry using elements of nature.\nJess creates imaginative miniature worlds honoring elements of nature and science. These sculptures contain magic in the form of preserved insects\, bones\, stones\, moss\, and plants. Inspired by the natural curiosity assemblages of the Victorian Naturalists and the Wildlife Halls of modern science museums\, Jess hopes to inspire wonder\, curiosity\, and understanding for our natural world. In this unique collaborative workshop\, you’ll bridge the generational gap by learning how to identify unique traits in one another that connect you with the goddesses and the power of their stories. \nI’ll be covering all the aspects of the seven Greek goddesses and their characteristics\, followed by dedicated time for each parent and teen to identify the traits in themselves and each other. We will use a “Goddess Archetype Profile” checklist—a practical tool that you can keep for future use and continued discovery. \nThis side-by-side endeavor will help each parent and teen learn more about their interpersonal relationships and offer a shared language to ease understanding and connection. Perfect for those who wish to celebrate the spring with a meaningful and creative rite of passage\, we will conclude the class with a candle-lighting ritual to honor the bond you have created. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR \nSusan Redington Bobby\, the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, is an online teacher\, a freelance editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing\, and she has recently completed a certificate course on integrative somatic trauma therapy.  She is a retired professor of English with expertise in fairy tales\, adolescent literature\, goddess archetypes\, magical realism\, creative writing\, and film studies.
