As a Jupiter-ruled harbinger of opportunity and change\, the Wheel asks us to surrender to the ride destiny has placed us on and celebrate growth\, even when its terms feel untethering. Join us to discuss the meaning and symbolism of this card\, as well as figure out its place in your own personal narrative. This class will feature a 1 hour lecture on the card itself\, followed by a 1 hour workshop of Tarot spreads and astrological techniques to consider when approaching the Wheel of Fortune. Participants are encouraged to bring a Tarot deck\, an accessible physical or digital copy of their birth chart\, and something to write with. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nIsabel Gareau (they/them) is a Tarot reader\, astrologer\, and herbalist currently residing on traditional and unceded territories of Ute\, Cheyenne\, and Arapahoe Peoples in so-called Denver\, Colorado. We are seeking self-care\, community\, and creative expression in a group that will welcome and encourage conversation and connection\, though there is no requirement to speak or to even have your screen on if you’d rather be anonymous and just “be” with us! \nLet’s face it\, our world demands constant productivity often for the sake of others. Registration closes one hour prior to class beginning. \n  \nIn this introduction to the study of fairy tales\, I’ll be covering basics of the European tradition\nwith an emphasis on some of the different literary figures of the age and the way they collected\, shaped\, and promoted fairy tales. Because the early tales which came from multiple tellers were created for adults by adults\, sex and violence often were integral parts\, either increased or toned down based on the tellers. Literary criticism\, especially different types of critical theory\, will be explained in an accessible way to help you discover different ways to read the same text based on the lens you apply and the questions you ask (a bonus is that you can apply the same kinds of lenses to other works you read!). Registration closes one hour prior to class starting. \nThe tide of Spring welcomes the return of the sun and marks a time when we’ve finally made it through the darkness of the wintertide. I will share a keynote presentation on the springtide\, and discuss important timings and folk traditions we can observe in the Scandinavian diaspora. We will go over tree and plant traditions\, Påsk and other holy days\, spring cleansings\, fertility magic\, and other ancestral practices we can utilize to bring the fresh energy of the Spring into our modern lives on the lands we live on today. \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nMissy Johanna Rhysing is an American woman practicing Nordic folk traditions in Denver\, CO and Mpls\, MN. Her people hail from Scandinavia\, Bohemia/Czech Republic\, France and England. She places great importance on working with our ancestral root cultures as a means of reclaiming and reweaving folk magic and medicine to improve our lives and our relationships with the lands we live on today.\nMissy’s trainings include Trolldom\, Nordic spirituality and animism\, Swedish massage\, past life regression\, meditation\, shiatsu\, tattooing\, folk herbal and nutritional support\, and more. Missy facilitates community sauna ceremonies and is passionate about sauna tradition and culture. She has been offered the name Mästerinna as a tradition teacher in Trolldom\, and holds that close to her heart with great honor.
