Equipping ourselves with knowledge is imperative in an age of disinformation\, for our own resilience and for the resilience of our communities. This class aims to shed light on a very shadowed\, taboo\, and stigmatized (yet universal) experience. \nIf you’ve ever wanted to know how to support yourself and your loved ones through pregnancy release\, this class is for you! Chances are\, you will at some point in life either experience an abortion/miscarriage yourself\, or know someone who will. \nWhether it’s a miscarriage or an abortion\, a clinical procedure or an at-home experience\, there are so many ways we can support the body holistically & imbue the process with ritual\, magic\, & plant medicine. \nIn this lecture-style class\, we will discuss the ins and outs of early-term abortion & miscarriage management. You will leave understanding the pregnancy release process\, plant allies to support our hearts & bodies\, and how to create a care kit ahead of time. \nAmong other things\, we will go over:\n-early term options\n-the medications used & how they work on the body\n-how to access these medications\n-what to expect\n-how to prepare\n-nutritional therapeutics & medicinal herbs\n-plant spirit allies\n-ways to incorporate ritual into the experience\n-flower essence allies\n-what to pack in a care kit\n-& more \nAll bodies & all identities are welcome–abortion access affects everyone\nParticipants will receive digital goodies & a robust resource list \nBonnie is a Certified Clinical Herbalist & Holistic Nutritionist\, Full Spectrum Doula\, and Flower Essence Practitioner. She is a co-founder of the Colorado Doula Project\, a non-profit whose mission is to provide free emotional\, logistical\, and physical support to abortion-seekers in the state of CO. Her work as a doula focuses on abortion\, miscarriage\, & birth\, where she brings nutrition\, herbalism\, and ritual together to provide a holistic experience tailored to each client. She is a community educator around the front range\, & a guest lecturer at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism\, where she teaches various reproductive health related classes. \nIn her clinical herbalism practice\, she works with reproductive health issues\, chronic illness\, autoimmune disease\, hormone imbalance\, gut issues\, & addiction\, among others. She works from a trauma-informed lens and believes reclaiming plant medicine is a birthright and an act of resistance. She loves supporting people in cultivating a relationship with plants\, and sharing her passion for all things herbs & reproductive justice. \n

Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \nRegistration will close one hour prior to class starting. \n  \nInvoking the Muse: A Form of Automatic Writing: For those who want to learn a way to “get out of their own head” when writing creatively\, I will teach you how to let your intuition work for you as your muse to assist you in the writing process. I’ll cover what has worked for me\, how I wrote 2 books this way (in about 2 months total)\, plus several short stories and fairy tales\, and how you can try out some of these techniques to help you write more freely and without self-judgment. Understanding that editing is another step that can happen later\, we will be focusing on the act of creation of ideas\, and we will start by using imagery which I will bring as our prompts. You will have a little time during class to practice\, and are encouraged to share your work\, but are not under any obligation to do so. \nSusan Redington Bobby is a practicing witch and the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, where she is an online teacher\, an editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing. She is a retired professor of English with expertise in fairy tales\, adolescent literature\, goddess archetypes\, magical realism\, creative writing\, and film studies. She is the author of Beyond His Dark Materials\, the editor of Fairy Tales Reimagined\, and co-editor of The Artemis Archetype in Popular Culture. The Series Editor of Tales from Fiddler’s Green\, she also publishes creative fiction under the pen name Miranda Rey. She is currently studying the Bardic Course in Druidry from OBOD (the Order of Bards\, Ovates\, and Druids). She maintains Mellie’s Grove\, a certified backyard wildlife habitat that is home to a rescued and stabilized cat colony and all manner of wildlife.
