Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \n“Join Death Doula & Midwife Carla Torres for an evening of Death Contemplation! \nThe Contemplation of Death is Traditional Practice of looking deeply and symptomatically into the nature of Death – physically & spiritually and into our own personal relationship with it. \nDeath Contemplation opens us up to the reality of Death in a very personal and intimate level. Death plays a part of our everyday lives and our existence depends on it. Death Contemplation helps us become aware it\, relate to it and accept and honor it in our lives while we still have it. \nIn this class\, Carla will take you through a physical and spiritual journey of your own living death by way of a traditional Ritual Death Washing\, Shrouding and being “Laid In Honor” through a hold departed Death Meditation. \nYou will leave with a deeper understand of what it means to be alive with an inspired appreciation for your life!” \nCarla is a Witch\, End of Life Coach & Death Doula\, she has been practicing magick since she was 18 years old and is an initiate of COTW Coven here in Colorado. Carla received both her End of Life Coaching & Death Doula certifications through her course work with the Conscious Dying Institute in Boulder\, Colorado. Carla is passionate about the Death Positive movement and is an advocate of normalizing death and mortality in everyday life. She hopes to bring death back to its scared place in the community through her death work services and discussions. Carla’s strengths in the death work field are being able to approach this part of life with a radical presence of non-judgment\, love and a bold vulnerability. Carla is a end of life care volunteer for Hospice and is currently working towards a Home Funeral Guide certification. When Carla is not hosting death related discussions\, helping families plan for a good death or sitting vigil\, she can be found talking to her house plants or rolling around in laughter with her two daughters. \n

It overlaps many other disciplines\, all expressed here though art. Specifically\, this is art that delivers practical information wrapping in a sensory visual experience. As we craft an ever-stronger working alliance with the cards\, magic happens.\nWe’ll begin with thorough orientations:\n—the Minor Arcana via the elements (Week 1)\n—the Court Cards for identity and connection (Week 2)\n—the Major Arcana with myths and archetypes (Week 3)\nand then take this material into\n—alliance-deepening personal work (Week 4)\n—reading the Tarot for yourself and for others\, and for maximum personal creativity and well-being (Week 5). \nThis series is for beginners and beyond. Please allow a minimum of two hours every week for take-home assignments between class sessions. \nPlease bring:\n— Note-taking materials\n— A fully illustrated\, “scenic” tarot deck\, i.e. instead of simply seeing three Cups\, you’ll see people/beings interacting with the three Cups. I recommend the Smith-Waite tarot deck (aka Rider-Waite-Smith\, RWS). From the countryside of England and Scotland to even the palaces of sheiks in the Middle East\, to even having emperors of Rome in Italy fascinated \, Tasseomany has been a form of divination that has captured the attention of and minds of each person exposed to such an art. In this class\, we will dive into the history of tasseomancy through tea leaf readings\, coffee grounds\, and wine sediments\, and at the end\, even try our hands at learning how to do tea leaf readings! For the class\, please bring a tea cup and your favorite type of loose-leaf tea. \nGabriel Varzal is a tarot reader\, medium\, and generational practitioner.
