This for is for IN PERSON registration only. \nTICKETS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE. \nClass fees are non transferable\, please note that we stick to the student agreements clicked on during registration. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nJoin perfumer\, astrologer\, and herbalist Janine Malina for an afternoon\nof bespoke blending. Using aromas for 5 traditional perfume\nfamilies/accords (Chypre\, Amber\, Fougere\, Citrus/Cologne and\nRondeletia/Floral) we will explore their use for magic and intention\,\ncreating an oil based perfume to take home. The first half of the class\nwill be spent learning about over 25 essential oils\, resins and\nabsolutes and their properties. The rest will be hands-on immersive\nperfumery\, with as little or as much guidance as you need. All skill\nlevels are welcome\, and all supplies are provided except for pen and\npaper for note taking. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty\,\nor bring an apron\, as these natural materials may stain! Price includes\nmaterials fee. \nThis will be Janine’s 4th class at RC\, and 3rd perfumery workshop\,\ncreated with the community in mind. No previous experience is required\,\nand new content will be offered for anyone returning.

When tend to the spirit of our plants that includes this awareness of their being\, we can not only give them a solid and wonderful environment to thrive in but we will also tend to their unique life source as well. When we change our relationship with our houseplants in this way it creates a very magical relationship and experience with them. \nPlants communicate on a very subtle level of communication with us\, if we can only tap into it and listen to what they are expressing about what they need\, like or don’t like. All we need to do is access our own awareness on what our plants needs are fundamentally\, practically and holistically. \nIn this virtual workshop\, Carla will guide you through different ways to care and tend to the spirit of your house plants that will take your green thumb qualities to the next level. She will focus on different aspects of indoor plant care from lighting\, environment\, watering\, re-potting\, to talking to your plants\, singing\, playing music and deepening a physical and energetic relationship with them. Carla received both her End of Life Coaching & Death Doula certifications through her course work with the Conscious Dying Institute in Boulder\, Colorado. Carla is passionate about the Death Positive movement and is an advocate of normalizing death and mortality in everyday life. She hopes to bring death back to its sacred place in the community through her death work services and discussions. Carla’s strengths in the death work field are being able to approach this part of life with a radical presence of non-judgment\, love and a bold vulnerability. Carla is a end of life care volunteer for Hospice and is currently working towards a Home Funeral Guide certification. When Carla is not hosting death related discussions\, helping families plan for a good death or sitting vigil\, she can be found talking to her house plants or rolling around in laughter with her two daughters.

Are you swept up in stories of fantasy? Would you like to write a story of your very own that rivals those you have enjoyed reading? I can teach you how to do it!\nFirst\, I’ll cover some of the basic differences between classic fairy tales versus contemporary or re-imagined tales. Then\, I’ll share some templates with you that I have created that will help you decide which type of story you’d like to tell. I’ll help you construct a rough outline/sketch of your story elements\, such as the major plot points\, the characters and their qualities\, the theme\, symbols\, and the like\, to assist you as you begin to write. After the class ends\, if you’d like to write your story in full\, I encourage you to reach out to me via email to share the tale\, and I’ll give you some supportive feedback (this is generously included in the class price).\nWhether you want to write the tale for yourself\, or to give it to another as a gift\, learning to write an original fairy tale is not as hard as it might seem if you have a fairy godmother offering assistance! \nSusan Redington Bobby is a practicing witch and the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, where she is an online teacher\, an editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing. She is a retired professor of English with expertise in fairy tales\, adolescent literature\, goddess archetypes\, magical realism\, creative writing\, and film studies. She is the author of Beyond His Dark Materials\, the editor of Fairy Tales Reimagined\, and co-editor of The Artemis Archetype in Popular Culture. The Series Editor of Tales from Fiddler’s Green\, she also publishes creative fiction under the pen name Miranda Rey. She is currently studying the Bardic Course in Druidry from OBOD (the Order of Bards\, Ovates\, and Druids). She maintains Mellie’s Grove\, a certified backyard wildlife habitat that is home to a rescued and stabilized cat colony and all manner of wildlife.
