Welburn Kemp for an immersive class and devotional experience honoring Saint Expedite\, the beloved folk saint and Roman martyr known for his swift intercession and no-nonsense clarity. This offering is designed to help you build or deepen your relationship with Saint Expedite—whether you are in desperate need of help\, facing crossroads\, or simply feel moved to honor the spirit who so often delivers. \nWe’ll explore the nature and history of Saint Expedite\, including:\n— Why he’s called the Patron Saint of Urgent Causes\n— His roots in Roman military martyrdom and folk devotion across cultures\n— Common misunderstandings\, taboos\, and devotional protocols\n— Symbolism of the cross marked HODIE\, the crow of delay (CRAS)\, and what he teaches us about decisiveness and divine timing\n— Traditional offerings\, colors\, and feast day observances \nParticipants will receive guidance on constructing or refreshing their own Saint Expedite altar\, writing petitions\, and engaging in devotional practice with confidence and respect. Together\, we will craft personal prayers or petitions to be placed before the community altar installed at Ritualcravt in celebration of his feast. \nThe class will culminate in a group Feast Day devotional prayer\, led by Col. Kemp\, calling in the presence of Saint Expedite for collective blessing and urgent grace. Time will be held after the session for questions\, altar offerings\, and individual moments of connection with the Saint. \nThis is a devotional working of power\, presence\, and praise—open to both beginners and seasoned practitioners. His practice blends elements of ceremonial magick with old time conjure and folk magick\, as well as mystical and lodge traditions informed further by his studies in the Deep South\, particularly New Orleans. Named after the renowned 18th-century French fortune-teller\, Madame Marie Anne Lenormand\, these cards provide a distinct approach to gaining clarity and guidance. Throughout this class\, we will explore the history\, symbolism\, as well as methods to help you begin reading Lenormand Cards right away! \nYOU WILL LEARN: \n•A Concise History of Lenormand Cards \n•Understanding the symbolism of the cards and how they differ from other methods of card reading. \n•Basic layout and spreads including an introduction to the Grand Tableau. \n•How to build a daily practice with Lenormand cards to help launch your journey with this underrated and amazing system of card divination. \nA free guide of all 36 Lenormand cards and meanings will be given during the class. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nAndrea’s fascination with reading cards began from a young age after being introduced to the Smith-Waite Tarot. Registration closes one hour prior to class starting. \n  \nIn Guillermo del Toro’s films\, the manipulative power of the villains can range from the allegiance of a small group who will not betray their leader to an entire army which out of devotion\, obedience\, or even fear refuse to break rank and oppose the evil regime. These two companion films present unlikely heroic characters—children—who become the moral and symbolic center of the force that fights the oppressor\, breaking open the mundane world and imbuing it with the power of magic\, vanquishing evil. Though their mortal lives are tragically ephemeral\, these children heroically teach us about the immense power of magic in triumphing over the forces of darkness. Join me for a deep dive into these two films\, discovering deeper symbolism and meaning\, appreciating how del Toro affirms how formidable magic is in the face of forces that wish to dehumanize and subjugate us. These magical realist films are thus sources of inspiration for us through these dark times\, reminding us of the value of our own magic. And if time permits\, I’d love to have a discussion on the many ways we can connect with our own magical power to help ourselves and each other fight the power of authoritarianism. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR \nSusan Redington Bobby\, the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, is an online teacher\, a freelance editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing\, and she has recently completed a certificate course on integrative somatic trauma therapy.  She is a retired professor of English with expertise in fairy tales\, adolescent literature\, goddess archetypes\, magical realism\, creative writing\, and film studies. She is the author of Beyond His Dark Materials\, the editor of Fairy Tales Reimagined\, and co-editor of The Artemis Archetype in Popular Culture. The Series Editor of Tales from Fiddler’s Green\, she also occasionally publishes creative fiction. She is currently studying the Bardic Course in Druidry from OBOD. She maintains Mellie’s Grove\, a certified NWF backyard wildlife habitat that is home to a rescued and small stabilized cat family and all manner of wildlife.
