Registration closes one hour prior to class starting. \nSaint Michael the Archangel has long been called upon as a defender of the faithful\, a slayer of evil\, and a shield against unseen forces. Whether facing spiritual battles\, seeking justice\, or fortifying personal protection\, his presence has been invoked across centuries and traditions. This class will explore both the rich history of Saint Michael and the practical ways to call upon his power\, build a working relationship with him\, and incorporate his presence into your spiritual practice. \nWe will begin with an in-depth look at Saint Michael’s origins\, his roles in scripture\, legend\, and mystical tradition\, and how he has been honored from ancient times to modern-day devotion. We’ll examine his role in Jewish\, Christian\, and folk traditions\, his appearances in sacred texts\, and how warriors\, mystics\, and everyday people have called upon his name for strength and protection. \nThe second half of the class shifts from history to practice. You will learn how to invoke Saint Michael as a personal guardian\, fortify your spiritual defenses\, and actively work with him for protection\, justice\, and strength. Topics will include: \n\nEssential prayers\, invocations\, and traditional devotions\nHow to set up and maintain a Saint Michael altar or sacred space\nThe use of sigils\, seals\, and sacred objects in calling his power\nProtection rituals and workings to bring Saint Michael’s shield into your life\nHow to craft a personalized petition or invocation for his aid\n\nThis is a class for seekers\, fighters\, and protectors—for those who wish to stand under the shield of Saint Michael and walk forward in strength. Whether you are new to working with him or have long been devoted\, this class will give you both deep knowledge and practical tools to walk in his presence with confidence. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nWelburn Hiram Kemp is a proud Appalachian\, steeped and studied in the time honored traditions of folklore\, conjure\, and faith healing passed down through generations in the hollers of Eastern Kentucky. His practice blends elements of ceremonial magick with old time conjure and folk magick\, as well as mystical and lodge traditions informed further by his studies in the Deep South\, particularly New Orleans. Welburn is a passionate teacher\, caregiver\, urban planner\, and preservationist\, dedicated to preserving both spiritual and physical spaces for future generations. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nThe summer solstice is an important date to folk practitioners and witches alike – our longest day of the year. A celebration of the sun and his gifts. A lengthening. A shortening. \nJoin Frankie Castanea for this in-person\, exclusive look into the midsummer traditions of Italian-American folk magic taking place on la Notte di San Giovanni\, the night of St John. \nTogether\, we will talk about various practices that Italian-Americans and folk practitioners alike can participate in – cleansing\, making herbs bundles\, and l’acqua di San Giovanni\, or the water of St John. We will talk about the collection and utilization of plants on the summer solstice\, which plants and flowers may be included in the traditional water\, and the ways in which this water and holiday intertwine with earlier ideas of the Italian agricultural year and Catholic syncretism within this particular folk magic. \nThis class will be hands-on – we will be touching plants and meeting them as teachers and allies. We will be learning to cleanse each other and lean deeply into the magic that happens on the longest day of the year – not just its traditional usage\, but its reconstruction and how we\, as modern practitioners\, can begin to utilize it. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nFrankie Castanea\, also known as Chaotic Witch Aunt\, is a practicing folk witch\, animist\, Italian American folk practitioner\, and spirit worker.  They have been on a journey of reconnection to culture and ancestral practices for almost five years now\, a practicing witch and diviner for almost a decade. Within this\, they have found a passion for learning and teaching Italian-American ways of being\, animism\, ancestors\, and spirit relationships. They have and continue to be a student of Lisa Fazio and Mary Beth Bonfiglio\, and have\, in the past\, learned from Austin Toney of Cat and Cauldron. They learn from being in community with other Italian-Americans and folk practitioners\, their own spirits\, and are driven by their ancestors in almost all things they do\, sharing their ways of reconnection and reconstruction via Instagram\, Youtube\, Patreon and their blog\, Chaotic Folk Magic\, through their website (chaoticwitchaunt.com). They run a small online shop of ancestral and folk magic guided wares\, believes in the power of the color red\, and reads tarot\, Italian playing cards\, and offers professional spell consultations at Ritualcravt in Wheat Ridge\, Colorado. They are the author of two books\, “Spells for Change” (2021)\, and their upcoming book “Ancestral Magic” (2025).

During this in-person class\, we’ll discuss various ways of using magic wands before inviting the experience of making a wand that is personal and unique to you. To construct your wand\, you’ll choose from the materials provided\, along with any precious treasures that you bring with you\, as well as special ingredients you may choose to purchase from the shop during class time. Gentle encouragement and hands-on support are given by the instructor to help assemble your wand. A small\, simple group ceremony is held in closing\, to imbue your magic wand with your intentions. *You’re invited to bring meaningful items with you that you may want to include in the creation of your magic wand. Think sticks/branches\, crystals\, bones\, feathers\, hair\, cloth\, charms\, beads… \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nEmily Duhaime has been a dreamer\, an artist and a magic-maker since early childhood and so it makes sense that these are inextricably interwoven in all aspects of her world. Emily is a soulful & creative life coach\, art therapist\, mentor\, guide\, artist and dreamer.
