SUMMARY:{VIRTUAL} Saint Expedite Demystified: The Basics and Beyond

It is being offered as a LIVE ONLINE-ONLY OFFERING. The zoom link will be attached to your ticket. Please also check your junk\, spam and promotions folders in your email for your ticket. If you have not received one please email learn@ritualcravt.com.  \nPlease register ahead of time to ensure that you make it to the online session on time! (Classes are in MDT time zone.) Class fees are non transferable\, we stick to the student agreements agreed upon during registration. Registration closes one hour prior to class starting. \nThis online class will begin with a look at Saint Expedite from a historical basis\, i.e.\, what we know vs. what we don’t really know and where there is variation from tradition to tradition. There will be brief coverage of the various related traditions worldwide and how Expedite is called and utilized before we move on to the traditions most familiar within the United States as they relate to New Orleans Voudo\, conjure\, the deep south\, and to a much lesser extent Appalachia. Attention will be paid\, of course\, to the decidedly Christian origins of Saint Expedite\, though students will be encouraged to see beyond that limitation. Care will be placed to limit the amount of Christianity used\, where appropriate\, in an effort to encourage those who might avoid the power of the Saints due to trauma surrounding organized religion\, abuse\, and the church’s misuse of sacred power. This will set the foundation for the practicum\, where students will learn about altars\, offerings\, statues and prayer cards\, incense\, oils\, candles\, prayers\, devotions\, novenas\, spells\, talismans\, and the materia magicka associated with Saint Expedite. This two hour workshop aims to deliver the student not only the information needed to begin to work with Saint Expedite but the confidence to approach him immediately and begin a beneficial magickal relationship as soon as they get home! \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nWelburn Hiram Kemp is a proud Appalachian\, steeped and studied in the time honored traditions of folklore\, conjure\, and faith healing passed down through generations in the hollers of Eastern Kentucky. His practice blends elements of ceremonial magick with old time conjure and folk magick\, as well as mystical and lodge traditions informed further by his studies in the Deep South\, particularly New Orleans. Welburn is a passionate teacher\, caregiver\, urban planner\, and preservationist\, dedicated to preserving both spiritual and physical spaces for future generations. I’ll share my personal story about my relationships with plants and the benefits of working spiritually with them. You’ll be encouraged to share about your already established friendships with the plant community – and it’s totally okay if this is new to you and you’re just discovering the possibility of a new plant ally. Through deep imaginative dream space\, you’ll be guided to connect with a plant\, talk with and feel into them; asking questions and receiving answers. I’ll introduce several practices to help engage with your plant beloved. And we’ll make some plant potions to help open the path of deepening into the numinous language of plants. You’ll leave the class with an array of ideas\, practices\, plant potions and confidence to continue to woo a plant ally into a deep\, meaningful\, reciprocal relationship. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nEmily Duhaime has been a dreamer\, an artist and a magic-maker since early childhood and so it makes sense that these are inextricably interwoven in all aspects of her world. Emily is a soulful & creative life coach\, art therapist\, mentor\, guide\, artist and dreamer. Trained as a transpersonal psychotherapist and art therapist\, she provides soul-centered life coaching through art therapy\, dreamwork\, plant spirit guidance and self-designed ceremony support to those individuals who are called to step deeply in\, bridging their everyday and spiritual selves. \nShe graduated with a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago\, IL and went on to earn an MA from Naropa University\, CO\, practicing as a licensed transpersonal art psychotherapist for over 20 years. She lives in Denver and is happy and grateful to be making and selling intentional art\, custom portraits and talismans\, all in her unique and dreamy style of Magical Realism\, where the worlds of spirit and flesh\, magic and ‘reality’ come together. \nHaving always known herself as a Witch\, she is one who holds deep intentions of health\, healing\, love and increased spiritual consciousness for all. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \nWe each have a personal direct-line to spirit\, but we may need to reawaken that line and and learn how to access it. \nThe ability to intentionally shift into a trance state and commune with our spirit-plane helpers is an asset to many spiritual paths\, and this approach – shamanic journeying – is one very dependable means of doing that – for guidance\, healing\, and the outright joy of direct connection with Spirit. \nIn this gathering\, we’ll play with the rudiments of drum-driven journeying to begin meeting the personal allies that live in that place of spirit.
