Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \nDiscover the ancient art of combining plant tannins and iron to create a permanent ink for painting on fabrics. In this 2.5-hour class\, you’ll be guided through the entire process- starting with making an iron ink\, sketching out ideas\, painting your own bag or wall hanging\, and finishing by curing your design in a cauldron of plant tannins. Whether you choose to paint symbols of alchemy\, zodiac\, talismans\, or other meaningful images\, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind creation and the skills to continue the craft at home. All supplies are provided\, including hand-sewn bags and wall hangings from up-cycled cotton by your instructor Leah Rich of Round Trip Goods. \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nLeah\, of Round Trip Goods\, is a slow fashion designer and artist working with natural dyes and upcycled cotton.  She loves sharing her knowledge and passion for plant dyes and sustainable textiles with others through community building\, teaching\, art\, and fashion.

Registration closes one hour prior to class starting. \n  \nOne of many ways to raise the energy of your spellwork is to write your ritual (or parts of it) in verse\, but writing poetry can seem daunting. This class will focus on a few basic yet powerful poetic forms with an eye towards making the writing itself accessible and easy for a beginner. We will cover poems as short as 2-line types and a few longer forms as well as both rhyming and non-rhyming styles. You’ll get to see lots of examples and you’ll get the opportunity in the workshop to practice in a safe and supportive environment. You will leave class with some ideas and samples you can use to enhance your spellwork. Class is open to beginners to writing poetry as well as those with a little experience seeking further guidance. \nPlease jot down some ideas for subjects of spellwork of special interest to bring to the workshop with you. Taught by the Series Editor of Tales from Fiddler’s Green. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR \nSusan Redington Bobby\, the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, is an online teacher\, a freelance editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing\, and she has recently completed a certificate course on integrative somatic trauma therapy.  She is a retired professor of English with expertise in fairy tales\, adolescent literature\, goddess archetypes\, magical realism\, creative writing\, and film studies. She is the author of Beyond His Dark Materials\, the editor of Fairy Tales Reimagined\, and co-editor of The Artemis Archetype in Popular Culture. The Series Editor of Tales from Fiddler’s Green\, she also occasionally publishes creative fiction. She is currently studying the Bardic Course in Druidry from OBOD. She maintains Mellie’s Grove\, a certified NWF backyard wildlife habitat that is home to a rescued and small stabilized cat family and all manner of wildlife.
