Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \nMabon marks the Autumn Equinox and a balance of light and dark. The growing season of summer has come to an end and the harvest is nearing completion. This is a time to celebrate and give thanks for that which is plentiful in our lives. Join Sterling Moon for this autumnal practice in which we will create spell bundles for gratitude and abundance\, followed by a meditation practice to honor the season. You are welcome to bring a yoga mat\, blanket\, or pillow. Please note that we will be sitting or laying down for up to 40 minutes and incense will be used. \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \n\n\nSterling is passionate about helping others find inspiration and guidance through tarot\, communication with spirits\, and old-timey folk magic. \n\n\nSterling has been reading tarot since 1995 and began offering readings and teaching professionally in 2013. She doesn’t shy away from the trope of fortune teller. Sterling specializes in future-based readings. She’s had the ability to connect with spirits of the dead and the natural world since childhood and has been practicing folk magic since 2014. She is particularly influenced by her practice of and studies in the Scandinavian tradition of Trolldom. Sterling’s spirit communication style is a unique blend of classic mediumship techniques\, folk magic\, and paranormal investigation strategies. \nSterling also had a 20-year career as a professional advocate for survivors of crime prior to and holds a Master’s Degree in Advocacy and Political Leadership. Her work as an advocate is a lifelong calling.

Registration closes one hour prior to class starting. \n  \nAs a very devoted cat mom\, it’s a little surprising to me that I didn’t come up with this class idea before!! I will do a deep dive into the meaning and mythology of Bastet\, and explore her history\, symbolism\, power\, and protection as a way to help us strengthen our connection to her. We will also learn some ritual ideas and spellwork that will call to her and bring her into our lives (and the lives of our cats). As someone who has had a relationship with her for years\, I am happy to relate some stories of how she has shown up for me and mine and been a great comfort when I have had to help any of my little ones cross the veil. As our class meeting approaches\, I encourage you to think about any times that she may have shown herself to you and your cats\, and to feel free to relate those stories in our class. \nThis class is taught in honor of Odysseus\, a feral cat whose story you will learn\, since my first deep connection with her came when he needed help most. His earthly body is no more\, but his spirit combined with hers protects our home. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR \nSusan Redington Bobby\, the founder of Professor of Words\, LLC\, is an online teacher\, a freelance editor\, a writing mentor\, and a tutor. Her specialty is being able to read people on a deeper level through their writing\, and she has recently completed a certificate course on integrative somatic trauma therapy.  She is a retired professor of English with expertise in fairy tales\, adolescent literature\, goddess archetypes\, magical realism\, creative writing\, and film studies. She is the author of Beyond His Dark Materials\, the editor of Fairy Tales Reimagined\, and co-editor of The Artemis Archetype in Popular Culture. The Series Editor of Tales from Fiddler’s Green\, she also occasionally publishes creative fiction. She is currently studying the Bardic Course in Druidry from OBOD. She maintains Mellie’s Grove\, a certified NWF backyard wildlife habitat that is home to a rescued and small stabilized cat family and all manner of wildlife.
