Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nPersephone\, Goddess of Flowers and Queen of the Underworld\, reminds us to embrace the endless cycle of life and death. As we depart the darkest part of the year\, we look forward to new growth\, blossoms\, and the light that Spring brings to us. This new life is not possible without the inevitability of death\, decay\, and the resulting recycling of natural materials. \nLikewise\, cicadas follow a similar rhythm. Eggs of the cicada are laid beneath tree bark and the young hatchlings fall to the ground and burrow beneath the earth. Depending on the species\, cicada nymphs will lay beneath the soil for weeks to years\, until they finally emerge in large quantities to molt into adulthood\, mate\, and continue the cycle. This journey to the underworld\, and an existence of dormancy is a natural reflection of Persephone’s journey between Hades and the world of the living. \nThis class will discuss the beneficial cycle of life and death and how it relates to the myth of Persephone. We will touch on the fascinating mystery cult of Eleusis\, and tie these themes to the life cycle of cicadas. There are many beautiful lessons to learn from this chthonic journey and its important role in helping us accept the reality of death and decay. \nEach ticket also includes a small shadow box\, a cicada specimen\, some dried flowers\, and a brief instruction on how to create a devotional art piece to Persephone. \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nJess is a Denver-based artist who creates small sculptures and jewelry using elements of nature.\nJess creates imaginative miniature worlds honoring elements of nature and science. These sculptures contain magic in the form of preserved insects\, bones\, stones\, moss\, and plants. Inspired by the natural curiosity assemblages of the Victorian Naturalists and the Wildlife Halls of modern science museums\, Jess hopes to inspire wonder\, curiosity\, and understanding for our natural world. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n\nTravel back to an era before smart watches and cell phones\, when people wove time out of sacred symbols\, seasonal rituals\, and everyday folk magic.\n\n\nWe’ll begin with a swift journey through the world’s sacred calendars—how ancient cultures turned the movements of the sun\, moon\, and the stars into ritual rhythms\, feast days\, and liminal nights when the veil thins and the magic is potent. From sacred festivities to folk almanacs\, you’ll see how tracking time has always been a way to navigate the year and work with providence\, spirits\, and the land. \n\n\n\nFrom there\, we dive into the wisdom of the North: Scandinavian calendar sticks\, or Primstavs. These carved staffs encode the ritual year in simple\, potent symbols—axes and keys\, crosses\, animals\, stars and more—marking days of power for work\, rest\, divination\, and protection. We will learn how Christian feast days overlaid older seasonal rites and how the working people quietly read signs of the weather\, warnings and luck in their sticks.\n\n\nFinally\, we will translate these ideas into our own craft. Through reflection and simple symbol‑making\, we’ll sketch a personal calendar stick that maps our most important events: sabbats\, changes in the seasons\, and auspicious times for spellwork. You’ll leave with historical insight\, fresh inspiration for seasonal magic\, and a tangible way to live more deeply in rhythm with the cycles that shape your practice. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYOUR INSTRUCTOR:\n\nKyn Morgan \nKyn is an artist and folk magic practitioner born and raised in Colorado. She lives high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains\, where she draws inspiration and renewal from the quiet\, powerful presence of the land around her. \nKyn’s magical path began in her early twenties with dedicated practice in a Wiccan tradition\, where she developed a strong foundation in ritual structure\, ethics\, and energy work. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nFolk traditions teach us to infuse magic into everyday activities like cooking\, cleaning\, bathing\, and more. It’s a wonderful way to make magic a way of life. \nIn this in-person workshop\, Sterling Moon will introduce participants to the magic of floorwashes. Floorwashes are essentially spells for changing the energy of a space\, dispelling what’s unwanted\, or calling in what’s  desirable. The spell is “activated” through the mundane activity of mopping and wiping down commonly used spaces. They are a staple in many folk magic traditions. \nSterling will guide participants through making their own blends\, beyond throwing a bunch of herbs and curios together. Sterling will walk participants through divining what needs attention in their home or lives and the process of waking up and listening to the spirits of magical materia like herbs and curios\, ensuring that it all works in harmony. Everyone will leave with floorwashes that are uniquely their own magic. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \n\n\n\n\nSterling Moon (she/her) is a full time\, heels-on-the-ground\, tarot reader\, psychic medium\, folk magician\, animal communicator\, published author\, podcaster\, and an educator on the mystical and strange. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nUsing the framework of Hanafuda playing cards\, we will look at various botanicals and their spiritual and historical significance in Japanese culture.  The class will include a history of Hanafuda and how it used in different games today.  Each suit in the deck represents a month and is assigned a seasonal botanical.  In this first class we will look at the first quarter of the year: January – pine\, February – plum\, March – cherry.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own Hanafuda decks if they already own one\, but possession of a deck is not required for the class\, as the content will be primarily focused on symbolism. She considers the Tarot to be a book of esoteric mysteries and has spent years of her life in studying and peeling back its many layers to share the knowledge and wisdom embedded in every card. \nReese Quinn (she/they) is a tarot and astrology reader and what they lovingly call a practical witch. They have a strong awareness of the crossroads between astrology\, cartomancy\, and elemental practices. Your facilitators will be there to offer discussion areas\, hold space for questions\, encourage “practice” readings\, and provide time for intentional community building as it fits the group. \nPlease come with your tarot deck and your curiosity! \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTORS: \nAndrea’s fascination with reading cards began from a young age after being introduced to the Smith-Waite Tarot. From then on\, she began to explore different methods of divination and fell in love with Lenormand\, a system of cartomancy originating in late 18th century Europe. Andrea’s style of reading cards could be described as pragmatic and deeply rooted in tradition\, influenced by a true reverence for the sibyls of the past. As a teacher\, Andrea has both an academic and scholarly approach to the way that she presents her classes as well as sharing from her experiences and gnosis as a professional reader. She considers the Tarot to be a book of esoteric mysteries and has spent years of her life in studying and peeling back its many layers to share the knowledge and wisdom embedded in every card. \nReese Quinn (she/they) is a tarot and astrology reader and what they lovingly call a practical witch. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n\n     By whatever name – trance\, shamanic journeying\, inner council work – if you’re already experienced with drum-driven journey practices\, please join us for ceremony\, journeying\, explorations\, drumming\, and community. Hone your skills and visit with your Guides\, within a circle of like-minded\, supportive humans. These practices – deeply personal though they are – were born and flourished within communities – humans gathering together in united energies and intentions\, through hundreds of generations\, in all times and places. When we circle together\, we’re a continuing part of that. \nNot a class\, but a circle\, we’ll generally have time for several journeys: first on a theme of your own choosing\, then others with varying intentions\, applications\, and styles of working. The options for exploration are unlimited!\nYou’re welcome to bring:\n— a drum or rattle\n— journaling materials\n— a small blanket or yoga mat\n— an “eye-curtain\,” bandana or other eye-covering\n— mainly\, bring your own good intentions. It asks for steadiness\, rest\, and a sense of safety within the body. Nourishing Your Nervous System is a gentle\, supportive class designed to help you slow down\, soften\, and create a grounded foundation for the year ahead. \nIn this class\, we’ll explore how stress and overstimulation live in the body\, and how small\, consistent acts of care can help restore balance and resilience. Together\, we’ll work with soothing herbal allies\, calming breath practices\, gentle movements\, and simple daily rituals that invite the nervous system out of survival mode and into a place of ease. \nThis class is welcoming and beginner-friendly\, offering a cozy space to reconnect with yourself and learn approachable tools you can carry into everyday life. You’ll leave feeling steadier\, more resourced\, and better supported as you move into the new year. \nParticipants will enjoy shared tea so bring your favorite mug. You will also create a personal tea blend to bring home as part of the experience\, you are welcome to bring a jar to take your tea in as well but bags will be provided so don’t stress if you don’t bring one. The spiritual practices of Animism – often called Shamanism – offer an ancient and profound pathway into Spirit\, and this short class is an introduction to the  trance-work of “journeying\,” a vital skill for this path. \nThe ability to intentionally shift into a trance state and commune with our spirit-plane helpers is an asset to many spiritual paths\, and journeying is one very dependable means of doing that – for guidance\, for healing\, and for the outright joy of direct connection with Spirit. \n\nIn this gathering\, we’ll play with the rudiments of drum-driven journeying to begin meeting the personal allies that live in that place of spirit.
