Humans have been honoring the dead and keeping the legacy of lost loved ones alive for thousands of years. \n• \nIn this class\, we will explore the topic of ancestral veneration from a cross cultural perspective\, as well as how to build a relationship and spiritual practice with your own ancestors in contemporary times. \n• \nThe Ancestors play more of a significant role in our lives than we may realize. In this presentation we will also learn about precautionary measures in ancestral work as well as learning the differences between what makes a venerated ancestor vs. in-tranquil spirits and how to safe guard your practice. You will be guided to engage in deep contemplative waking dream-space to connect with your own soulful inner images and then you’ll be supported to use art materials to respond to the experience. Practices will be introduced that aim to aid you in welcoming art-making into your current spiritual practice\, including through the portal of your night-time dreams. Bring a special sketchbook with you or you may purchase one from a variety available in the class directly from the instructor. You’ll leave with your creative fire lit; feeling inspired to feed your relationships with your own unique soulful images that are here to help reflect\, inspire and guide you! \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nEmily Duhaime has been a dreamer\, an artist and a magic-maker since early childhood and so it makes sense that these are inextricably interwoven in all aspects of her world. Andrea’s style of reading cards could be described as pragmatic and deeply rooted in tradition\, influenced by a true reverence for the sibyls of the past. As a teacher\, Andrea has both an academic and scholarly approach to the way that she presents her classes as well as sharing from her experiences and gnosis as a professional reader. She considers the Tarot to be a book of esoteric mysteries and has spent years of her life in studying and peeling back its many layers to share the knowledge and wisdom embedded in every card. \nReese Quinn (she/they) is a tarot and astrology reader and what they lovingly call a practical witch. They have a strong awareness of the crossroads between astrology\, cartomancy\, and elemental practices. You’ll note that Reese embraces their queer\, intersectional identities when both teaching and reading. As we craft an ever-stronger working alliance with the cards\, magic happens. \nWe’ll begin with thorough orientations:\n— the Minor Arcana via the elements (Week 1);\n— the Court Cards for identity and connection (Week 2);\n— the Major Arcana with myths and archetypes (Week 3);\nand then take this material into\n— alliance-deepening personal work (Week 4);\n— reading the Tarot for yourself and for others\, and for maximum personal creativity and well-being (Week 5).\nThis series is for beginners and beyond. I’ll share my personal story about my relationships with plants and the benefits of working spiritually with them. You’ll be encouraged to share about your already established friendships with the plant community – and it’s totally okay if this is new to you and you’re just discovering the possibility of a new plant ally. Through deep imaginative dream space\, you’ll be guided to connect with a plant\, talk with and feel into them; asking questions and receiving answers. I’ll introduce several practices to help engage with your plant beloved. And we’ll make some plant potions to help open the path of deepening into the numinous language of plants. You’ll leave the class with an array of ideas\, practices\, plant potions and confidence to continue to woo a plant ally into a deep\, meaningful\, reciprocal relationship. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nEmily Duhaime has been a dreamer\, an artist and a magic-maker since early childhood and so it makes sense that these are inextricably interwoven in all aspects of her world.
