Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nFolk traditions teach us to infuse magic into everyday activities like cooking\, cleaning\, bathing\, and more. It’s a wonderful way to make magic a way of life. \nIn this in-person workshop\, Sterling Moon will introduce participants to the magic of floorwashes. Floorwashes are essentially spells for changing the energy of a space\, dispelling what’s unwanted\, or calling in what’s  desirable. The spell is “activated” through the mundane activity of mopping and wiping down commonly used spaces. They are a staple in many folk magic traditions. \nSterling will guide participants through making their own blends\, beyond throwing a bunch of herbs and curios together. Sterling will walk participants through divining what needs attention in their home or lives and the process of waking up and listening to the spirits of magical materia like herbs and curios\, ensuring that it all works in harmony. Everyone will leave with floorwashes that are uniquely their own magic. \n  \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \n\n\n\n\nSterling Moon (she/her) is a full time\, heels-on-the-ground\, tarot reader\, psychic medium\, folk magician\, animal communicator\, published author\, podcaster\, and an educator on the mystical and strange. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n\nTravel back to an era before smart watches and cell phones\, when people wove time out of sacred symbols\, seasonal rituals\, and everyday folk magic.\n\n\nWe’ll begin with a swift journey through the world’s sacred calendars—how ancient cultures turned the movements of the sun\, moon\, and the stars into ritual rhythms\, feast days\, and liminal nights when the veil thins and the magic is potent. From sacred festivities to folk almanacs\, you’ll see how tracking time has always been a way to navigate the year and work with providence\, spirits\, and the land. \n\n\n\nFrom there\, we dive into the wisdom of the North: Scandinavian calendar sticks\, or Primstavs. These carved staffs encode the ritual year in simple\, potent symbols—axes and keys\, crosses\, animals\, stars and more—marking days of power for work\, rest\, divination\, and protection. We will learn how Christian feast days overlaid older seasonal rites and how the working people quietly read signs of the weather\, warnings and luck in their sticks.\n\n\nFinally\, we will translate these ideas into our own craft. In this session\, we will explore the 10 Rules of Paranormal Interaction. These are practical guidelines that help you understand how spirits communicate\, why paranormal experiences happen\, and how to engage the unseen world with clarity and safety. \nWe will move into hands-on practice using pendulums\, learning how to recognize intuitive signals and interpret subtle energetic responses. This practice helps strengthen your awareness and confidence in receiving intuitive information. \nWe will close the evening with a spirit communication session connecting with the Whisperers and other spirits\, allowing participants to witness and experience these principles in action. \nEach month we explore a different aspect of the paranormal through teaching\, guided practice\, and direct experiences. SUMMARY:{IN PERSON} Traversing the Underworld with the Periodic Cicada and the Myth of Persephone

Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time. \n  \nPersephone\, Goddess of Flowers and Queen of the Underworld\, reminds us to embrace the endless cycle of life and death. As we depart the darkest part of the year\, we look forward to new growth\, blossoms\, and the light that Spring brings to us. This new life is not possible without the inevitability of death\, decay\, and the resulting recycling of natural materials. \nLikewise\, cicadas follow a similar rhythm. Eggs of the cicada are laid beneath tree bark and the young hatchlings fall to the ground and burrow beneath the earth. Depending on the species\, cicada nymphs will lay beneath the soil for weeks to years\, until they finally emerge in large quantities to molt into adulthood\, mate\, and continue the cycle. This journey to the underworld\, and an existence of dormancy is a natural reflection of Persephone’s journey between Hades and the world of the living. \nThis class will discuss the beneficial cycle of life and death and how it relates to the myth of Persephone. We will touch on the fascinating mystery cult of Eleusis\, and tie these themes to the life cycle of cicadas. There are many beautiful lessons to learn from this chthonic journey and its important role in helping us accept the reality of death and decay. \nEach ticket also includes a small shadow box\, a cicada specimen\, some dried flowers\, and a brief instruction on how to create a devotional art piece to Persephone. \nYOUR INSTRUCTOR: \nJess is a Denver-based artist who creates small sculptures and jewelry using elements of nature.\nJess creates imaginative miniature worlds honoring elements of nature and science. These sculptures contain magic in the form of preserved insects\, bones\, stones\, moss\, and plants. Inspired by the natural curiosity assemblages of the Victorian Naturalists and the Wildlife Halls of modern science museums\, Jess hopes to inspire wonder\, curiosity\, and understanding for our natural world. Each piece she creates is a reminder of the beauty that lies in death and its importance in the cycle of life.\nJess teaches classes that stitch together magic\, art\, and science with an aim to inspire her students to to approach the world\, and their practice\, with endless curiosity.

It is one that continues after the collapse and turns toward survival and renewal. \nIn this class we explore the forgotten continuation of the Ragnarök story by examining: \n\n\nHow the myth describes the fall of old orders and the emergence of a new world. \n\n\nWho survives the cataclysm\, and why do these particular beings remain? \n\n\nWhat qualities allow them to endure when the structures of the old world have failed? \n\n\nThe session concludes with a guided ritual inspired to connect with the survivors of Ragnarök. We will discuss plant pigments before diving into a variety of botanicals and design options. Using the bundle dye method\, we will steam our creations to infuse the pigments. No experience is necessary\, all students receive one cotton bandana along with guidance and plants to create their own unique pattern. Students will take home their finished bandanas at the end of class and have access to a digital Plant Dyeing 101 guide to help them in future projects. It overlaps many other disciplines\, all expressed here through art. Specifically\, this is art that delivers practical information wrapped in a sensory visual experience. This special seasonal offering will focus on a few basic yet powerful poetic forms with an eye towards making the writing itself accessible and easy for a beginner. \nWe will cover poems as short as 2-line types and a few longer forms as well as both rhyming and non-rhyming styles. You’ll get a detailed “Poet’s Grimoire” guide filled with lots of examples and spell-starters to help you find your flow. You’ll also get the opportunity in the workshop to practice writing in a safe and supportive environment. You will leave class with some ideas and samples you can use to enhance your spellwork. \nClass is open to beginners as well as those with a little experience seeking further guidance. Come prepared with a specific intention\, such as protection\, prosperity\, or a personal spring renewal\, and we can work together to weave it into verse.
