Herbal skin care is more than beauty care. It is a quiet form of plant magic, a way of tending the body with flowers, leaves, roots, and oils long treasured for their ability to nourish, soften, protect, and support the skin’s natural renewal.

In this hands-on class, students will learn to craft botanical infused oils for topical use, whether anointed directly onto the skin or stirred into lotions, salves, balms, and body butters. Together, we’ll explore beloved skin-supportive herbs such as Calendula, Lavender, St. John’s Wort, and Comfrey, each with its own traditional place in herbal body care. Botanical oils are traditionally known as deeply nutritive remedies for the troubled & aging skin, valued in external preparations where restoration and resilience are the goal.

Students will learn why herbal infused oils are such powerful ingredients in herbal skincare, how to extract herbal medicinal compounds into carrier oils, and how to choose the right herb and oil pairing for different body care intentions. We’ll cover best practices for drying herbs, avoiding moisture and spoilage, choosing infusion methods, straining, labeling, storage, and knowing when an infused oil is ready to become part of a finished skincare formula.

Students will leave with:
● A handmade botanical infused oil crafted in class
● An understanding of how infused oils support herbal skincare formulation
● Knowledge of skin-loving herbs such as Calendula, St. John’s Wort, and Comfrey
● Practical skills for making oils to use directly or blend into lotions, salves, balms, and body butters
● Greater confidence in creating plant-based skincare with care, intention, and respect forthe body

This class is for anyone drawn to the quiet potency of plants and the art of tending skin with simple, time honored ingredients. Come ready to work with root, flower, leaf, and oil, and discover how powerful herbal skincare can be when crafted by hand.

This class is educational and rooted in traditional herbal practice. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
