This class is IN PERSON. TICKETS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE. Class fees are non transferable, we stick to the student agreements agreed upon during registration. Please ensure you are able to attend the scheduled class time.

Spend the afternoon with fabric, felt, and friends, crafting a portable home for your favorite tarot or oracle deck. Your wrap will keep your cards clean and safe on the go, then when you’re ready for a spread, unfold the pouch to reveal a handmade altar. Your own sacred space for readings anywhere.

Carrying your cards in a wrap that you made yourself is an excellent way to develop a closer relationship to your deck, or could make a heartfelt gift for the tarot or oracle card reader in your life.

Please bring a deck with you as your wrap/altar will be custom sized to fit your cards. You’ll choose fabric and colors that best fit your intentions and learn a little stitchcraft to bring it all together. No embroidery or crafting experience is necessary, just a willingness to show up with your whole imperfect self! All materials are provided – though if you have a particular fabric you want to use or anything that you would like to incorporate, please feel free to bring it along.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Catalena Eskey (they/them) calls themselves a recovering perfectionist. This has strongly informed the ways that they teach, make art, and move through the world. In early adulthood, chronic illness forced them to confront their deeply held stories about motivation and self-worth. Now, as a yoga teacher, witch, artist, and human living with disability, both their life and work are a constant reminder of the need to slow down.

Catalena’s artistic and spell work primarily explores fiber manipulation. Though they love many techniques, the tactile experience of pulling a needle and thread is one process that is especially satisfying and meditative for them. They view crafting as a form of divine creativity and a place to practice dreaming, play, and UN-doing.

They are inspired by the earth, color, and small things that feel magical, or that give respite to spirit. They often work with themes of nature, death, rebirth, and vulnerability. However, they also think that it is incredibly important to make things that don’t have a profound meaning beyond the joy of creating them.

In this productivity-focused world, taking time to pause and introspect is a form of resistance. Catalena believes magic is most alive in things that encourage people to reflect on our interconnectedness and inherent worth.
