This immersive class offers a high-level overview of Appalachian folk traditions, Deep South conjure, and the practices of Jewish Mysticism whittled down into a practical system of magick called Mountain Conjure which explores their connection to the spiritual framework of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. Students will learn how to map key aspects of traditional magick and conjure onto the ten sephirot (emanations) to gain deeper insights into the spiritual principles underlying this expansive paradigm of folk magick. Students will learn the basics of cleansing and protection plus how to use the Psalms and much more. This 2 hour class combines theoretical exploration, story telling, and a hands-on demonstration of at least one magickal practice, equipping participants with a foundation to begin their own journey into Mountain Conjure. Each participant will receive a copy of Welburn Kemp’s book on Mountain Conjure to take home to further their practice.
