Step into the apothecary kitchen and learn the spirited art of crafting Fire Cider, a bold vinegar tonic alive with heat, sweetness, and old kitchen magic. Rooted in the people’s herbalism movement, Fire Cider is a beloved “crossover” recipe, part food, part medicine, and part living tradition.

In this hands-on class, students will explore what Fire Cider is, why it has become such an enduring herbal legacy, and how its story reminds us that folk remedies belong in the hands of the people. Together, we’ll work with apple cider vinegar, pungent roots, warming spices, fresh seasonal herbs, and create a preparation that is fiery, earthy, and medicinal.

Each student will craft their own jar of Fire Cider while learning the foundations of vinegar-based herbal preparations, including ingredient selection, maceration, straining, bottling, and labeling. We’ll also honor the creative spirit of this tradition, where no two batches are exactly alike, and every herbalist stirs in their own wisdom.

Students will leave with:
● A handmade jar of Fire Cider to finish infusing at home
● A deeper connection to folk herbalism and kitchen medicine
● Practical skills for crafting vinegar-based herbal tonics
● Inspiration to personalize future batches with intuition, care, and a little fire

Come ready to chop, stir, taste, and tend the cauldron. This is a class for those who love plants, seasonal ritual, and the wild warmth of remedies made by hand.

This class is educational and rooted in traditional herbal practice. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
