From small tables in the hillside, or from grand manors in the cities of old, tea leaf reading has been a component of tassomancy for generations. In this class, we will learn the history of this humble art, from its origins in ancient China to having it come to the shores of England and Scotland to what tea leaf reading is today. In this class, we will even allocate time to practice tea leaf reading ourselves! This style of divination has been passed down from generation to generation, seeing the future from the lens of the days of old. In this class as well, each student will be given worksheets of the different symbols and divination styles in which to read the leaves in the tea cup. We ask that for this class to bring a tea cup and a saucer. Loose-leaf tea will be provided for each student who wants to participate.

Gabriel Varzal is a tarot reader, medium, and generational practitioner. Learning at a very young age from his grandmother, Gabriel understood the importance of the ancestors and the spirits of the land and sea. Under the tutelage of teachers and family members in New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and New York, Gabriel has honed his skills to help anyone in need.
