Featuring the tagline “Love never dies”, this lavish depiction of Bram Stoker’s exciting tale of Count Dracula’s obsession with the lovely Mina Harker stars an array of incredible actors, such as Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves, and Sir Anthony Hopkins. As the costume design is integral to the narrative, it will be considered in depth, particularly the work of iconic fashion designer Eiko Ishioka (with a brief nod to some of her other costume designs for film). Additionally, I’ll be talking about inspirations, Kabuki theatre, magical realism, and other facets of Francis Ford Coppola’s direction in this memorable film that invites repeat viewings, especially in the current season.
