New Years, what a magickal time it is !
A day rooted in ritual & tradition,
and celebrated as the beginning of a new cycle throughout the world.
Since Pre-Christian Rome, January first has been associated with Janus, the God of gateways & beginnings.
A common theme found throughout most cultures is that the rituals done for
New Years generally have 2 main functions.
The clearing away of hardships, old troubles & evil OR bringing in prosperity, protection & blessings for the year to come.. or BOTH!
In this class we will look into a variety of New Year’s traditions in Hoodoo, as well as other cultures.
We take a look into superstition, cuisine & various spell-work such as baths/washes, candle work & spells.
We will also discuss:
Cleansing & Blessing rituals
New Year’s Eve preparation
What you will need to make the magick happen
Spiritual works for safe travels & family harmony.
Divination for the year ahead. It is believed that the way we spend our New Year’s Day sets the tone for the rest of the year. Allow this class to help you to fulfill your most magickal potential for the year ahead. Let the magick begin!

Yona Glickman is a conjureman, cartomancer and teacher of Hoodoo & rootwork.
Born in a family deeply rooted in spirituality and folk magic allowed him to nurture his natural “gift” & relationship with the spirit realm. Itis the diversity in his mentorship as well as his personal life experiences that gives him a well-rounded and practical perspective to his spiritual workings.
As an approachable,“every day man” he prides himself on using the old time tradition of Hoodoo to find solutions for modern day problems.
He is highly skilled and well-versed in candle rituals, biblical magic, herbs, curios and creating handcrafted spiritual products.
